WAEC sets every question from the syllabus below — the same one for school candidates and private candidates, in Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, The Gambia and Liberia. Open a subject to see its sections and topics, tick off what you can already answer, then go and prove it on a paper.
How to use a syllabus properly
Most candidates read the syllabus once in January and never open it again. Use it as a checklist instead.
- Tick what you can already do. Not what you have been taught — what you can answer without notes.
- Rank the blanks. Topics that appear in every past paper come first. Mathematics questions on surds and circle theorems turn up far more often than questions on loci.
- Close one blank at a time, then immediately sit a short paper on that subject to check the topic really closed.
- Re-tick in the final month. Anything that has quietly untucked itself is exactly what you should revise last, because it will still be fresh.
